Bonneville Salt Flats is a salar, a salt pan of 260 km² formed by the evaporation of ancient Lake Bonneville, which occurred after the Last Glacial Maximum.
Gary Gabelich accomplished there, in 1970, the first land speed record beyond 1000 km/h, aboard the Blue Flame.
Bonneville Salt Flats is located west of the Great Salt Lake in north-western Utah, USA.
