Written on the Wind is a 1956 American drama film directed by Douglas Sirk, starring Rock Hudson, Lauren Bacall, Robert Stack, and Dorothy Malone. The film tells the story of a wealthy Texas oil family, the Hadleys, and their turbulent relationships with each other. Regarded as one of Sirk’s best films, it won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Dorothy Malone’s performance as Marylee.
